I am an artist and educator arming people with the tools and courage to define their own identity and build a more just world. My passion for community organizing was forged in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and strengthened on the streets of East Baltimore. I have facilitated community-centered projects locally and abroad unleashing the power of art for action and economic development.

From these experiences, I teach nonprofit leadership through an understanding of the interconnected values-based perspectives of individual values, group values, and community/societal values – Me, We, Us. You as an individual (Me) have a responsibility to expand your own self-awareness, but it is only when your individual journey joins others (We) and the barriers between you break down that you are now tied to the humanity of others. There is no them, there is only Us.

When I was introduced to Principled Innovation, I saw not only my teaching philosophy reflected, but how I aspire to live my life through character, respect, and creativity. It brings me joy to share this framework to guide institutional and community impact.
