Dr. Danielle McNamara is a leading researcher in educational technology and cognitive science, dedicated to advancing Principled Innovation in AI-driven learning solutions. As a professor and Executive Director of the Learning Engineering Institute at Arizona State University, her work focuses on developing ethical, adaptive technologies that enhance literacy, comprehension, and student engagement. She champions AI as a tool for equitable, accessible, and student-centered learning, ensuring that technological advancements align with core values of integrity, inclusivity, and responsible innovation.

Her past and current research integrates natural language processing, machine learning, and human cognition to create AI-powered educational tools that personalize learning experiences. Through projects like iSTART-Early, Writing Analytics Tool (WAT), and AI-enhanced reading interventions, Dr. McNamara applies Principled Innovation to bridge the gap between research and real-world impact.
