Mina Jafarpoor works as the Program Director for the Principled Innovation Academy at University College, Arizona State University. She began her collaboration with ASU in 2021 as a consultant and joined as a Senior Design Strategist in 2022.
Before her time at ASU, Mina spent nearly a decade designing and facilitating transformative learning environments for leaders in the public sector and students in K-12 schools in Washington, D.C., Boston, and Providence. Her work focused on improving public service experiences and creating opportunities for youth and adults to engage in innovative problem-solving. In 2021, Mina founded Tangled Joy, a Maryland-based small business dedicated to enhancing creative problem-solving skills among citizens. Earlier in her career, she contributed to neuromuscular research through computational modeling at Harvard Medical School.
Mina has held prestigious fellowships, including the Social Innovation Fellowship at Brown University and the Human-Centered Design Fellowship in the Federal government. She also served two years as an AmeriCorps volunteer, working in education in Boston and Providence.
Mina earned her bachelor’s degree in physics and her master’s in industrial design. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies in leadership and innovation at Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at ASU.
