since 2025School for the Future of Innovation in Society
I am drawn to Principled Innovation because it reflects how I approach my work, guided by integrity, service, curiosity, and critical thinking. Through my work with ASU’s SolarSPELL Initiative, I collaborate with educators and communities in low-connectivity contexts to co-create offline digital libraries that support education, health, agriculture and more. This work requires ethical decision-making, humility, and long-term relationship building, making SolarSPELL a clear example of Principled Innovation in action. We must ask ourselves daily: What assumptions are we bringing to the table? How can we be more collaborative and responsive to the communities we work with? Growth mindset with a dose of humility is key.
I value relationships with students, colleagues, and community partners, and see character development and reflection as essential to meaningful impact. I look forward to integrating Principled Innovation more intentionally into SolarSPELL’s research, design, and student engagement as the initiative continues to grow, as well as using PI as a tool to reflect on my own values & character in my life and work.
