Moral imagination

Moral imagination is a reflective activity that uses storytelling to explore ethical dilemmas, consider multiple perspectives, and imagine alternative choices and their consequences.

By: Principled Innovation®

Time: 120 minutes

For: Groups and teams

The Moral Imagination activity engages participants in ethical reflection by analyzing dilemmas presented in books, films, or news stories. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of how moral reasoning shapes actions and impacts others by identifying conflicting values, discussing character choices, and considering alternatives.

This activity encourages perspective-taking, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making through group discussions and creative rewriting exercises. Participants not only reflect on how values influence choices, but also explore how different decisions could lead to intended and unintended consequences in real-world situations.
