As W.P. Carey College Catalysts, we are particularly proud of the opportunity we had to teach Principled Innovation to all of the student facilitators of WPC 101. These facilitators went on to teach the school’s incoming students business school basics, which now includes PI.
Our sessions with the facilitators were exhilarating. We used the PI card deck to illuminate and empower the facilitators to teach their students in ways that would be most meaningful.
Dan Gruber and Jared BryneW.P. Carey PI College Catalysts
PI became the guiding framework for the students as they worked on coming up with ideas for their Spark Tank Challenge. This entrepreneurial competition, which had been in the course already, rose to a new level of societal impact as students thought through the implications of the their idea using a PI lens. Dan Gruber was one of the judges of the final presentations for the competition, and asked all of the students the question, “Just because we can, should we?” As students presented their work, it was clear that both the ideas were designed using PI principles and the students practiced PI in their groups through this work.
